Linda Crouse

Linda J. Crouse, M.D., FACC, is a cardiologist who is an internationally recognized expert, clinician, researcher, and educator in cardiovascular ultrasound and the unique characteristics of heart disease in women. She has been involved in the birth and evolution of stress echocardiography and is widely known as a pioneer in the field and one of its most effective researchers and teachers. She chaired the committee assembled to formulate accreditation criteria for echocardiography laboratories, and served as the first President of the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories for two years. She helped develop, and served as the medical director of, the Women’s Cardiac Center at St. Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City, the first such center of its type in the United States.

She now directs The Women’s Cardiovascular Center™, a division of MidAmerica Heart, Vascular, and Vein Specialists, P.A., focusing specifically on the unique aspects of heart disease in women. She is invited to give lectures locally and at the national level to educate both physicians and the public about this traditionally under-recognized and underserved patient group. Along with Dr. Paul Kramer, she has authored a text on Stress Echocardiography and has produced an interactive CD on this subject, which has been distributed around the world.
