BE ALERT FOR HEART-RELATED CHEST PAIN

SIGNS OF CHEST PAIN:

  • Uncomfortable pressure or fullness
  • Vague discomfort or heaviness
  • Tight, gripping or squeezing sensation
  • Heartburn or indigestion
  • Pain spreading to the neck, jaw, back, shoulders or arms on either the right or left side
  • Lightheadedness, fainting, nausea, sweating and/or shortness of breath
  • Unexplained sudden onset of fatigue

REMEMBER:

  • Symptoms may be persistent or intermittent.
  • Many times, some, but not all of these symptoms will be experienced.
  • Rapid response can minimize heart damage when a heart attack occurs.
  • When symptoms are severe or last longer than 15 minutes, seek help immediately by calling 911.
  • Do not drive if you are experiencing chest discomfort.
