BE ALERT FOR HEART-RELATED CHEST PAIN
SIGNS OF CHEST PAIN:
- Uncomfortable pressure or fullness
- Vague discomfort or heaviness
- Tight, gripping or squeezing sensation
- Heartburn or indigestion
- Pain spreading to the neck, jaw, back, shoulders or arms on either the right or left side
- Lightheadedness, fainting, nausea, sweating and/or shortness of breath
- Unexplained sudden onset of fatigue
REMEMBER:
- Symptoms may be persistent or intermittent.
- Many times, some, but not all of these symptoms will be experienced.
- Rapid response can minimize heart damage when a heart attack occurs.
- When symptoms are severe or last longer than 15 minutes, seek help immediately by calling 911.
- Do not drive if you are experiencing chest discomfort.
